Andy Brown Muzukuru

. In a beautiful village called Mberengwa, nestled in a rich valley in the Southern part of the Midlands province of Zimbabwe on March 15 1962, Andy Brown entered this world kicking and screaming. Like many other Zimbabweans, Andy grew up in rural Zimbabwe and only moved to the big city to pursue an education. While in Bulawayo, he created his first band, ”Impact” . A later move to the capital, Harare, would see him work with many different bands, including Grabb, Ilanga, Rusike Brothers, just a few to mention. Andy left Ilanga band in 1989 and pursued a solo career. He formed Andy Brown and the Storm. The band has been performing and recording together for the last 22 years. Their popularity has grown in Zimbabwe and abroad. Andy have risen to become one of the country’s top acts. The Storm’s music doesn’t fit a certain category; songs include a variety of instruments, from the standard guitar-bass-drums of a rock act, to horns, and the traditional mbira. The band has also toured abroad, t.ex. Europe, Africa and all others. Andy Brown won several awards as the best zimbabwean aspiring musician at Southern African’s best awards. Andy Brown, also known as Muzukuru among his fans, is regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s finest artists, up there with Thomas Mapfumo and Oliver Mtukudzi. Do not miss Andy Brown Muzukuru in Action
